Local author Katrina Young to visit Chapters

Local author Katrina Young will be discussing and signing copies of her new historical fiction novel, “Embracing Courage” 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at Chapters.

“Embracing Courage” is the sequel to her first novel, “A Meaningful Life: Winnie’s Story.”

For those who want to read the books before the signing, copies of both Young’s novels are available at the store.

Young says she has always found inspiration in the stories of people’s lives. That’s what led her to write both historical fiction and children’s books. She grew up in Northern California, later moving with her husband to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where they raised three incredible sons on their small family farm. Young is also an educator. When she’s not writing, she enjoys hiking or baking for her family and friends.

Her writing has been described by readers as “bringing the characters to life”, “gentle”, and “leaving me wanting more.”
