Chapters to host local author Pam Nester Cloud

Local author Pam Nester Cloud will be signing copies of her Christian fiction novels In God’s Green Pastures and Marley Knott’s Mountain 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Chapters, and during Galax’s annual Smoke on the Mountain barbecue festival.

Cloud describes her writing as God-inspired and draws from a tradition of Appalachian oral history and folk tales. Raised in the Virginia mountains, Cloud now lives with her husband in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Faith and family are very important to her, she says.

Chapters, located at 101 E. Grayson St. in downtown Galax, is an independent bookstore and boutique offering a unique selection of clothing, jewelry, wine and beer, specialty foods, and adult and children’s gifts.  Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
